Bookworms,
If I am being honest, the true purchases for the month are less than I thought it would be. Most of the books have taken their sweet time coming home but at least, they are finally home. However I finally bought the series I have been meaning to buy for literal years. I am so happy to have another trilogy by N. K. Jemisin finally. I have to admit that these are some gorgeous books.
Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles
The Story of Silence by Alex Myers
Lovely War by Julie Berry
The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton
Troy by Stephen Fry
The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin
The Obelisk Gate by N. K. Jemisin
The Stone Sky by N. K. Jemisin
The Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu
Ok, so the first five books came from book boxes that were held up because of the lock down situations in UK and they took their sweet time coming home, that’s for sure. I had heard so many great things about Where Dreams Descend back when it was just released. Since then I have slowly transitioned more towards adult fantasy and science fiction but! I am still interested in the book! So, let’s see how it goes. The Story of Silence, Lovely War, The Devil and the Dark Water and Troy all came in the same box and all of these books are so pretty! and heavy! In any case, I am still very much interested to see how I like the books because despite having some mythological/fantastic background in those, they are very different from each other.
The Broken Earth trilogy has been on my tbr for quite a while now and I finally got to buy them at an affordable rates, either they were too expensive or out of stock and when I checked the boxset turned out to be expensive than the books individually so, I went with that route. I loved Jemisin’s Inheritance trilogy and I knew I wanted to read more of her books. So, I grabbed this chance with both hands.
Then comes this completely unexpected purchase of The Paper Menagerie. I have been trying to buy Ken Liu’s fantasy series but since I have been unable to do so because they are almost always out of stock when I check and this one turned out to be in stock and at a good price, I snatched it up!
And that’s it for this month. I have no idea if I will be buying any books and there are no pre-orders left to come so…let’s see how it goes.
I loved The Fifth Season! Troy sounds really interesting and Mythos was really fun so I need to get that soon. I hope you enjoy them 😊
