Bookworms,

Just like last year, I am slowly trying my best to control my book-buying. I am only buying books that I am absolutely going to read. Mostly this means that it will be an ongoing series or a series I am about to start. Standalones are a whole different matter but luckily, I haven’t been in a mood for anything other fantasy for a while, so standalone books might be a rare thing here. Since I am reading series, the book buying will have to be planned. Luckily, it shows in this particular haul too!

Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan

Book 6

The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams

Book 7

To Green Angel Tower: Storm by Tad Williams

Book 5

Starsight by Brandon Sanderson

Book 1

Invisible Planets Edited and translated by Ken Liu

Book 2

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow

Book 3

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

Book 4

I have been eyeing Michael J. Sullivan’s books for a while now and I finally have the first book in a starting point of his world. So, I am hoping that I will love Theft of Swords enough to read all the books from him, I have heard great things about the main characters from pretty everyone who’s read the books. So, this bodes well.

Then comes The Dragonbone Chair as well as To Green Angel Tower: Storm by Tad Williams. So, these books are from Tad WilliamsMemory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy. The last book was split in two parts and seeing as I owned the middle book and the first part of the third book, I have been trying my best to buy the rest of the books for quite some time. I finally have a complete set of books, different editions but at least, it’s a complete trilogy now. I can rest in peace. Also, this makes me wonder if it’s time for a re-read considering the next books are already out.

Starsight by Brandon Sanderson has long been on my list but something stayed my hand, whether it was the ridiculously high price or the hardback not matching my paperback or worse, the reviews in general. However, I clearly got over that this month. I decided to finally read the bloody thing to see if it’s as bad as some of the reviews keep saying. Also, this is not gonna match Skyward as far as editions and sizes are concerned. I don’t know, usually, I am a stickler for these things but when you have to struggle to even find the bloody book to be available in your area, I guess that particular need goes out the window.

Invisible Planets is my foray into physically owning short stories collection. This one is specifically translated by Ken Liu, Chinese science fiction and I am very interested to see what’s being explored in China for science fiction. The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow is a standalone novel about witches in 1893 in an alternate universe? I think? I haven’t really gone and read anything in detail so forgive me if it’s not…that. I am a huge fan of the cover and I have been meaning to read something by this author. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, ah, I have already read this in 2020 but I had to have a physical copy of this book because I just needed it, okay? Let’s not go beyond that.

However, that’s it for the book haul for this month. I do have a few books coming in but I doubt that they will be delivered before the month ends, so these are the books I can haul for now. I am tentatively putting myself on book-buying ban unless it’s already on the planned books list. So. Yeah.

Till the next time!

I listened to The House in the Cerulean Sea and I’m debating on picking up a physical copy because that book was just something else! Great haul!

It really was, wasn’t it? I haven’t tried the audiobook because I was too impatient and read the book on my iPad in a matter of hours.
