reading list

WWW Wednesday

Hello bookworms!!!

I have been taking things slow and not really feeling the best health-wise but! I have made a good progress with my reading so that’s one good thing to consider, I guess.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

天官赐福, Tiān Guān Cì Fú (Heaven’s Official Blessing) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

I am hoping to finish this book as soon as possible. Let’s see how that goes. I have been reading this at a snail’s pace and that worked for me, clearly but now, I feel like I am dragging my feet. I don’t know why. I generally do not have a book on my currently reading list for so long, I guess. Oh, well. Let’s see how it goes. Also, it turns out that I have been using the wrong edition of the book while I was marking my progress so that was a revelation. It turns out there’s a huge omnibus edition (which is the one I own which has all the books) and there’s the single entries in the series. I have been marking my progress with the first entry edition and no wonder I was baffled as to why it was taking me so long to finish off a 600+ pages book. Oh, no. It is actually a 2050 pages book. Go figure.

Recently Finished

The Mask of Mirrors by M. A. Carrick

Ah, if I am being honest, I think this book is gonna be rated lower as the time passes and as I finish writing my review. As it stands, it is currently at around 3.75 stars? I think what I expected and what I read was very different from each other and it clearly affected my rating. I simply didn’t enjoy it as much as I expected and that’s all I should probably say at this point.

Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell

On the opposite end of the spectrum is this book! I only requested it expecting silly tropes and funny characters, it turned that idea on its head with its tropes and characters working so well and having a plot that was paced pretty well! I loved Kiem and Jainan is a cinnamon roll that should be protected at all costs. I loved the political intrigue and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Reading Next

Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb

Let’s get into this again, shall we? It’s high time. I think I want to finish this trilogy in the first quarter of the year. I am not sure how successful I will be but at least, let’s start it, huh?

And that’s it for this week. Have you read any of the books yet? If so, which one is it and did you like it? Also are any of these on your tbr if you haven’t read them yet? Tell me all about it in the comments below! Also don’t forget to tell me what you are currently reading!
