WWW Wednesday

Hello bookworms!!!

Last week, I found out something about me as a reader and at the same time, I am very conflicted about what I found. Oh well.

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

+++++

Currently Reading

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin

Yay for me finally picking this one up. I am not too far in the book yet to have a proper opinion about it but I can definitely say one thing for sure. Jemisin writes with a force that is felt while reading it. You cannot avoid it, at all.

The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski

I have the ARC of this one and I am making this one a commute read till the weekend where I hope to finish reading this one. This is my first Marie Rutkoski and I am enjoying it so far. It’s engaging and that’s what I want in a commute book, first and foremost. While I am aware that this is set in the world of her previous series, I am not sure if a reader has to read that series first or not. Maybe I am committing some bookish crime by reading this first.

Recently Finished

Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James

Ugh. What to say about this one? The writing is brilliant but I just wish James wasn’t writing what he was writing? Does that make sense? It is also a very different kind of fantasy than what I am used to and it never sat well with me, I am afraid. I am still kinda unsure if I should have just DNF’ed it and let it go or if I did the right thing by finishing it. That’s how it is with this book right now.

Uncanny Valley by Anna Weiner

By that comparison, this one was a smooth ride. I am not a nonfiction reader, not much of a one at any rate. So me reading a nonfiction book and actually really enjoying it is a rare thing. This one was so readable and engaging. I already have a review for this one up on the blog. (Who am I??!!!)

Reading Next

You Let Me In by Camilla Bruce

I have an ARC of this one as well and it’s super intriguing. Also March is so near! It’s releasing in March! Do you realise how much I am tempting fate by not reading this sooner than this?

The Broken Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin

The second installment in the Inheritance trilogy, I am hoping to finish the series this month itself but let’s see what pace I actually end up having.

+++++

And that’s it for this week, also keep in mind that I am trying my best to read for the Black History Month! Are you? Have you read any of the books yet? If so, which one is it and did you like it? Also are any of these on your tbr if you haven’t read them yet? Tell me all about it in the comments below! Also don’t forget to tell me what you are currently reading!
