Book Haul- December

Fellow bookworms!!

If I was too boastful during November for not buying a lot of books, I should have been more careful. For here they come! The books that is. This is still not too many, I think? However my idea of too many is rather skewed at this point so this should be considered accordingly.

I bought some books that I genuinely had wanted for the longest while and there were a few surprises that I wasn’t totally put off by.

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Frankissstein: A Love Story by Jeannette Winterson

I have wanted to read Jeanette Winterson ever since I heard about her books on YouTube, this one the latest of her works seemed available and affordable. Also it has Frankenstein to a certain degree, of course, my little heart melted and I wanted it. So it’s with me now.

The Housekeeper and the Professor by  Yōko Ogawa, Stephen Snyder

I have seen it on bookstagram but never really went out of my way to find more about it. However a recent foray into a local bookstore found me standing in the aisle and just perusing through it. In the end, I bought it of course.

Fangirl | Carry On |Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

You can guess why these books finally made a home in my bookshelves. I read Fangirl a while back and I have been wanting to read Carry On and Wayward Son for what seems like forever. So a re-read of Fangirl and a proper read of the rest of the books is in order, I think.

Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

I have been dying while I was waiting for this one. Living in India, unless the publisher considers you very important, we don’t get any anticipated books unless the rest of the world has had it for over a month, at least. So Starless Sea finally made its way to me this month with a book box. So yay for that.

The Illumination of Ursula Flight by Anna-Marie Crowhurst

So, this one is a funny story. I think I ordered this book back in June?!! I got word from the shop that it was out of stock and the money will be refunded. Ever since then, I have been waiting for the money, I even asked my dad if he got it back but he has so many transactions that he forgot about it. Soon, I forgot about it too. Then, on Christmas Eve like a miracle, this book turned up in the mail. Yeah. It’s wild. I got like five books on Christmas Eve which was super fun!

So that’s it for the books bought this month. Have you read any of the books? If yes, then, what are your thoughts on them? If not then after reading the blurbs, would you want to? Also, what was the last book you bought? Tell me all about it in the comments below.
