WWW Wednesday

Hello bookworms!!!

I am starting a new thing!! Something that would hopefully make this blog a bit more engaging and active. I am well aware that I haven’t been posting as much as I want and it’s mostly due to the fact that I am working full time now and also the fact that I haven’t had the time to actually properly schedule out ideas and such.

So for now, this is a thing that I hope to post every Wednesday. That way, I can not only talk about the books I am currently enjoying but also get to know what you are reading at the time! Yeah, that nosy part of my personality is shining through.

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

+++++

Currently Reading

The Absolutist by John Boyne :

Historical fiction, WWI. It’s been sitting on my shelves for a while now and it’s high time I read it. I loved both the books that I read of John Boyne so I have no idea why I haven’t picked it up. (I mean, I kinda know but let’s not go there). In any case, reading this and hopefully, it would turn out to be just as wonderfully written as A Ladder to the Sky and Heart’s Invisible Furies.

Wilder Girls by Rory Power:

This one was an anticipated read for a while and now that it’s released, I got my hands on the e-book. The physical book was way too expensive and I couldn’t wait for the price to go down so e-book it is. Let’s see how much I enjoy this one. It’s my commute book!

Recently Finished

Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim:

Really enjoyed this one and it was my commute read for the week before I got too greedy and finished reading it last weekend. It’s a bit more whimsical than I expected it to be but hey, that’s not a bad thing for me. A story of grief and doing something you have always wanted to do is something that always sucks me in.

Relic by Bronwyn Eley:

Just read this one and it’s still with me now because it’s such a good debut and it’s a seriously great start to a trilogy. Also you would be reading the review very soon! A dark fantasy which does have its stakes high but it also has families and friendships and I just really enjoyed it, okay?

Reading Next

The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell:

So, this book has been sitting on my shelf long enough and it’s spooky season and I wanna read something spooky. Let’s see if it’s also a favourite of mine because it’s Gothic and shivery creepy so just the right read. (Ideally.)

The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys:

After reading Salt to the Sea by Sepetys, I knew I had to read more from this author and when I saw that an e-ARC was available to request, you bet I did! It’s set during the time when Spain was under the fascist dictatorship of General Franco. I am sure it’s going to be just as sad and well written as Salt to the Sea was.

+++++

And that’s it for this week! Have you read any of the books yet? If so, which one is it and did you like it? Also are any of these on your tbr if you haven’t read them yet? Tell me all about it in the comments below! Also don’t forget to tell me what you are currently reading!
