Series I Really Need To Read In 2019

Hi, hello!

So, dear readers. This is basically a call out post to myself but I am doing this at the start of a new year so that I can maybe held responsible at the end of it. I mean, we all saw what happened with the monthly tbrs last year. It wasn’t pretty.

Still, this time, I am not going to even try to be that ambitious. I am just going to try to be realistic and maybe a little bit ambitious. Let’s see what actually happens. Also, I am simply not original enough to think of this, I got this idea from Melanie over at MeltotheAny and thought it sounded fantastic so I totally stole it from her.

I am not even sorry.

You might see a few repeats from last year’s monthly tbrs but that can’t be helped. I never got around to them and that’s my bad but this is for my own accountability if nothing else. So, you gotta suffer with me. Oops?

Let’s just get into it, shall we?

First I am going to list off the series that I should finish reading because nothing says ‘awesome reader’ like unfinished book series, right?

The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

Yeah, I got nothing for this one. I absolutely loved the first two books and then I was a tiny bit ruined for the third one but I took it so personally, I didn’t pick up the book till now. So, first order of business, finish this bloody book because I love Mistborn and I don’t want to regret not reading it. It’s just silly at this point.

Shades of Magic trilogy by V. E. Schwab

Then comes this one. I don’t know, for some reason, this series leaves me very hot and cold. I like it, I really do, there are some parts where I was literally on the edge of my seat but then there are the other parts wherein all I want to do is scream into the void about how this book is seriously pissing me off. Still, I want to start and finish the third book, just to get closure and I really love some of the characters so I wanna see what happens to them.

Strange the Dreamer duology by Laini Taylor

Ah yes, everyone’s absolute favourite series that I have been unable to finish despite absolutely loving the writing style as well as the plot. U G H. Seriously. UGH! I am just not sure what went wrong with this one, maybe it was wrong time for me to pick it up or maybe I am just cursed, who knows at this point?

Ok, now comes the interesting and not so shameful part of the post. The series I should start and/or finish this year. This one, I am more than happy to share.

Mind you, I am not saying that I will finish them all but I have high hopes for these series. They all come highly recommended to me and who am I to deny myself the chance to read some more books?

I have already made a start with this one, one book down, five more to go.
People have been raving about this one and I thought, why not?
People had absolutely no chill when the last book came out and that made me want to start the whole Cassandra Clare book series tbh.
One book down, two more to go. Fell for the first one so hard.
I am not quite sure what this series is about but people can’t help but rec them so, weak-willed person that I am when it comes to books, I am hoping to read at least one to see what the fuss is all about.
I have known about this one for a while now and I even have the books! It all sounds absolutely mad and I can’t wait to read it.
Ah yes. The series that everyone from booktubers to bloggers seem to be madly in love with, plus, it’s about books!
This one captured my interest last year and I even bought the first ebook but never got around to reading it. It has wowed so many people by now and I badly want to be one of them.
And last but not the least. This trilogy which everyone seems to love, I wanna read it too because who doesn’t love sci-fi?

And that’s all for now. Are they too many? Yes. Do I care? Perhaps. These are the series I am absolutely hoping to get into and fall in love with this year. Have you read any of the above series? If yes, how did you find them? I wanna know because I am nosy that way.
