Fall Book Tag

So, as you might have noticed, when in doubt, I do a book tag. If you have been following me for a while, you might have noticed that I didn’t really post much last week. I had a terrible cough and cold and my head simply wasn’t up to the task if I am being honest so I made the hard decision of not writing up reviews or my wishlist post, I felt so freaking guilty. Gosh.

But now that I am feeling infinitely better, I decided to come back with a tag, why? Because those are fun and easy to do, that’s why.

Again, I was not really tagged by someone per se but I found it and it sounded fun so I am doing it anyway. Cool? Cool.

So, following are the rules for the tag!

The rules:

  • Please link back to me, Bionic Book Worm, as the creator of this tag!! I want to see your answers!!
  • Use the graphics – if you want 🙂
  • Have fun!

I chose this because while it is an alien invasion story of sorts, it’s far more than that. It shows the adverse effects of the invasion but it also shows the humans in an environment that is so very, very different from what humanity has been used to. People adapt and people commit terrible acts but at the same time, there’s a strange almost unhealthy obsession with the alien dome that ‘grants’ good health. It was a quietly stunning book and I can’t wait to read more of this series.

I am still not over the ending. I am not quite sure why I didn’t see it coming but I didn’t and it made the experience of reading this amazing even better. Just when I thought, ‘Ok, this is going to turn out ok, it’s gonna end up in a happy ever after’ but then Peng Shepherd dropped that bomb at me and I was just….left asking ‘what’ in the middle of the night with a weird squeak. My sis was only a little bit worried which says a lot about me, I am sure.

I don’t think I need to explain why, I hope.

Yeah, this is one of my favourites of the year so far, and just look at that cover, it’s like it’s meant for autumn, don’t you think? It’s straight up gorgeous and that never hurts.

This was such a surprise for me, from the start to the end, it is filled with tight scenes, fast paced action and that heavy feeling you get when you think something is wrong. Yeah, I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait for the sequel, I think it might come out in 2019 or 2020.

I have been so intrigued by this book ever since I read the blurb and it has been shortlisted for Man Booker and it has such a raving reviews. I have to read it and I am hoping my birthday month will be the one when I get to read it.

I loved The Song Of Achilles. It was just so beautiful! So I have high hopes for Circe

Yay! So glad you loved it! I don’t think I can ever get over that book and I hope you love Circe too. It’s very different from The Song of Achilles in everything from pace to plot but it’s worth a read. A quiet sort of storm, if you will.

Right?? And please, read away! I am planning to read Circe again but I have so many unread books that I feel guilty about picking it up. 😂

I know I do too. I currently want to start a reread of Harry Potter, which I think I am going to do in November/December and I also want to reread the Little Women Series late this year, early next year. I love rereading, but I too feel a bit guilty.

I so want to have a HP re-read but this year, I am just not in the mood. I tried. Also, I have yet to read Little Women, don’t hate me! I don’t know why but I have always been intimidated by that series for some reason.

No hate here, it is a classic so it can be slow if you are not used to those types of stories. The audiobooks for the series are really good too. So, that is an option if you listen to them at all.
