Hello, lovely bookworms!
Look who’s back? Back again! With another post on TBR!
Yeah, it’s me. I mean, who else would it be, right? Anyway, so, after noticing a considerable win at those monthly tbr things, I decided to do it again and again till the year end and it’s like a little experiment for me. I wanna see how the structured and planned tbr holds up against my moody reading tendencies. It also gave me a good head start in trying to keep up with my ever-growing tbr.
So, I am trying to see how I fare and how much am I actually able to follow through because it’s been fun these two months. I am aware that I haven’t quite finished two of the books from the previous month but I am simply not in the mood right now and I know me. I will not pick them up again until I am in the mood again. I have forced myself to read it but frankly, it’s just not worth it unless it’s gonna get you some good grades. So, we are not going to talk about His Dark Materials and How to Stop Time, ok?
So, let’s just get into it, shall we?
I am currently reading two books and plan to add another this weekend.
This is an e-ARC provided by the publishers and NetGalley. I was really intrigued by the synopsis and was pleasantly surprised when I was approved for it. I am only 11% in the book so far so I can’t offer any opinions yet however one thing I can say about it is the language used in the book. It’s beautiful and engaging. I am hoping I will like this book because I have read some reviews about the plot and it’s not encouraging however, I won’t let that affect me.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Now, this is a book well established in the bookish community. I have heard so many great things about this book, so much so that I put off reading it but the thing is, it’s hype doesn’t die down. It’s one of those books, apparently. I am about a hundred pages in and it is engaging and there’s that sense of foreboding as I read, that sense that something is going to happen. Something bad. So, yeah, I am cautiously chugging along, hoping I won’t cry.
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
It’s the first book in the Mistborn trilogy and ever since it was delivered I have been wanting to read it. I had other more pressing reads which is why this one took a back seat. Not anymore! I will be starting this one and finishing it this month, hopefully. I really loved Elantris so I am hoping the same applies here.
Soonish by Dr. Kelly Weinersmith; Zach Weinersmith
In this witty and entertaining book, Zach and Kelly Weinersmith give us a snapshot of the transformative technologies that are coming next – from robot swarms to nuclear fusion powered-toasters – and explain how they will change our world in astonishing ways. This is a part of the synopsis for the book and I was kinda interested in this when I requested it. So, I am hoping to like it, I am aware this book might not be relevant for long considering the strides people make everyday but I want to enjoy the relevancy while it lasts.
I ordered this book back in July? I think and it arrived in August. I don’t think that counts as an August buy so I never did the haul but I have plans to read it this month. I have heard so much about the book and I know Kat from Paperback Dreams can’t stop raving about it. I kinda trust her reading styles so I bought it without knowing too much about it. I wanna go into it blindly.
The next few are the books that have been sitting on my iPad ever since I bought them and I don’t think I have talked about them yet. So unfair. So, here’s the list of ebooks that I wanna read this month.
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
This is a book I have seen literally everywhere, there’s no escaping it. I have never read anything from the author but have heard great things so I am keeping my fingers crossed for this one. Apparently and don’t quote me on this, it is supposed to be emotionally charged and is about family? Families? I might have to check that again. Oh, well.
What Should Be Wild by Julia Fine
This book is so freaking expensive and it’s only available in hardcover so I had to relent and buy the ebook and even that’s not cheap but this book had me obsessed because of the synopsis. I had to read it and see if it was as creepy and fantastic as it seemed. So, yeah, there’s the reason. I am hoping to read it this month. I hope it was worth it.
And that’s it. These are the books I really do want to read more than anything this month. This list only has seven books but I am sure I will read more, I just haven’t realised it. I am leaving room for more because the Mistborn trilogy could take over and I could finish it or my subscription box could come and I might read those books. Who knows? Besides, considering my mood reading thing, I didn’t want it to be too structured. I know what happened last time, not gonna repeat the mistakes. (Not that they were mistakes but oh, well.)
