Or alternatively titled, books I have in my cart constantly but I never manage to buy them because they are freaking expensive to buy at once. I only bought one book in June, I think? And that was ‘The Book of M’ by Peng Shepherd.
So, yeah. This is going to be a post. I mean, people do book hauls and unhauls. Hell, I have done it myself but while I am waiting for five books to come, I thought why not make a post about the books I want to buy but haven’t managed to for some reason or other.
So, here’s the list of books that I have in my Amazon cart.
The Shadow of the Wind: The Cemetery of Forgotten Books by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
I have heard such good things about this book for so long and I have been meaning to buy it, seriously. It’s just more books would come into my notice and this poor book was left behind. It’s been there for a while now. I will get to it, I swear.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Another book I heard rave review about, it’s also set in World War II! It’s a wonder I haven’t snagged it and devoured it yet.
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
Another historical fiction set in World War II. I have been meaning to read this author’s books for a while now and somehow they are pushed to the back. I am hoping by the end of the year, I will have read at least one of her books.
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
I have to admit that I have been eyeing this book for it’s cover for a while before I dared to read or watch the reviews. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about it and I want to read it badly. I truly do but other books took priority for some reason.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw
Well, this is a fairly new addition along with a few others. The covers along with their fairy/ folk tale-ish content drew me in.
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
Another one that might have been a cover buy had it not been for the reviews. Another fairy tale-ish book that I can’t help but want.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
This is a classic (well, sort of) that I haven’t managed to read yet and so many people within the bookish world are in love with it that I almost feel guilty. Oh, well. I will get to it soon enough. Hopefully.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
I want to buy the whole trilogy really. Let’s see if I manage that by the end of the year. I hoping I will. Also it sounds like it has everything I love in a book! I have heard nothing but wonderful things about it.
Again, this is another one of those books that I have seen people in the bookish community fall head over heels for. Also, the concept of the book really interests me. I just hope it lives up to its hype. I mean, I am not going to have any expectations going in to the book but things happen and sometimes I expect things.
This is the sequel to Vicious and it’s coming soon so, if I am gonna read Vicious then I gotta have this one as well. It just makes sense, doesn’t it? Also, it’s a duology? ( I can’t be sure but I am positive?) So, I would rather have them both at hand. Also the covers to both the books!!! The newer editions are freaking gorgeous. What kind of magic does V. E. Schwab have to have such beautiful covers????
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
This has been recommended to me so many times by so many people I trust that I have decided to read it. It all depends on how I manage this by the end of the year seeing as I have so many books already but hey, anthing for books.
Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
This is the sequel to ‘Strange the Dreamer’ and if you know me at all, you know if it’s a series and has nothing but good things attached to it then I gotta have it. That Pokemon attitude, you know? Gotta catch them all.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
And that’s it. I mean, there are more but these are the ones I desperately need to have in my possession. I have to prioritize or I will never really buy anything or worse, buy everything. I have less than ideal impulse control when it comes to book shopping. So, I think I will back to this post at the year’s end and see how many I actually managed to buy.
There are quite a number of series that I want to read along with some standalone novels but I think I will buy a number of them on my Kindle because I don’t have enough shelf space, frankly.
So, do you also have wishlists or books in your shopping cart? Do your prioritize your book shopping? If so, how do you decide? Have you got any of the above books in your possession already? If yes, would you recommend them? If not, why not? Tell me about it all down in the comments!!! I am always curious to know more about you guys!
I really can’t decide which is which, I start prioritising them when I see a title that’s in my list on sale…

It’s a good way of getting books, I think. Frankly, sometimes I do that as well. I mean, some of the books are so freaking expensive where I live and sometimes there are only hard covers available as well, I have to save for those.

Same here! Not all books are available here and no decent libraries either. 😭
Gotta earn and find those book deals and make it worthwhile.

Goodness, sorry for the late reply but I didn’t get any notification for your comment. Oh, well.
I have heard such great things about that series that I am going to find it hard to go in without any expectations. I am going to try, of course.
