I can’t believe that just on Sunday I was ready to tear my hair out or scream at anybody and everybody. And look at me now. Finally gotten used to the horrid heat and getting on with my life because that’s what one does, right? I mean, obviously took some good precautions against the overbearing heat but overall, I took on a brighter outlook towards this week and it helped enormously.
It was surprising because I am a pessimist no matter how much I wish I wasn’t. So, just thinking positive thoughts and making sure I didn’t fall into pit of heat problems made this week better. The heat is this invisible enemy that’s trying to bring me down and if I think about it dramatically enough, I don’t become dramatic about it. Or something like that, anyway.
Anyway. So, this month opened my eyes and my mind to look further than the normal fantasy and science fiction genre of books. I mean, I wasn’t completely just into that. I do read some other books but this month introduced me to so many other things and I am so grateful for that.
I read some LGBT romances, some historical fiction (which I thought I might have given up on), some travel books and…let’s just say this month was a month of diversity in the genres of books that I read. I wasn’t expecting that, in fact, I had some other plans entirely and to be surprised like that with such wonderful books to boot was absolutely fun!
The month isn’t over yet! I have a few books and reviews lined up, so be sure to be on the lookout!
I am currently reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch. I am loving both of them so far. I am not sure I will be reviewing The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath seeing as it’s a classic and many people must have reviewed them before but the other one is definitely going to be reviewed.
I also have been wondering if I should make a page where there’s a proper alphabetical list of all the reviews I have so far posted? Is that something I should do? (From my overly excited brain, it’s a go but from a blog visitor point of view, do you want that?) If possible, tell me in the comments!
Then there’s the new-found love for Sufjan Stevens’ music. Oh my god. That man has such good music. I am usually into more classical music or alternative or even pop but somehow I never came across this awesome dude. Clearly, I have been looking in the wrong direction. Oh well.
I just wanna do this to Sufjan Stevens right now.
He made my life a little better. 🙂
That’s it for now! Hope to see you guys the next time!
