I am no stranger to spam messages, I have been on internet long enough. They serve no purpose and more than half the time, it’s more harmful than harmless. The thing I don’t understand is, what do these people or even bots get out of it? Why is there so much spam??

Yesterday, I looked at stats, and then, just out of curiosity, I checked out how many spam comments I had. There were over fifteen, now I am not a big blog nor do I have a big follower list, so why were these comments on my blog? Hell, I haven’t even reached the golden fifty yet!

It just seems so pointless and absolutely ridiculous. Sure, there were some really blatant advertising messages in there but the others were just….bots and weird? And sometimes, it’s just so disappointing and odd to see those messages. As it is, I don’t get enough comments from the people following me or even the people who sometimes wander around my blog but to see that the number of spam comments are more than the actual, genuine comments? Ugh.

How do you deal with this? Do you have tons of spam comments? Is there any way to get rid of those things? Tell me if you guys have any helpful tips for the new and fairly naive person in the blogging world.
