Tiny updates

How are you guys? It’s been a bit of a roller coaster for me since I joined WordPress, I started writing, I have found some interesting people and I am already nominated for a blogging award (it was a very surprising and a weird experience for me, I wasn’t expecting that. At all.) I wanted to just say that writing this blog has been one of the best things I have started in 2018 and I am so very glad that I took up the challenge to write everyday.

It’s not the best but I think I would improve as time passes. I have read and visited so many blogs in the last few weeks and many of them were so wonderful. Whether it was photography or writing or something else, everyone had something wonderful to share with the world and that’s made me realise how foolish I have been by never joining in!

In any case, I am here and I hope I will be here for a long, long while. I personally think writing has been good for me because I wake up with a positive note nowadays and I am looking forward to writing. There’s inspiration and if there isn’t, there’s the Daily Prompts which help me keep a steady writing pace. I have come to realise that I need to write daily or else I might not write at all, I know it sounds incredibly lazy or even foolish but that’s how it is. There were two-three days when I didn’t have internet and didn’t have prompts, I couldn’t really write. I am not saying that without the prompts I can’t write but it’s just…the sadness of not being able to publish my writing made it hard for me to be motivated towards writing at all. Rather odd, I know.

I let my friends and family see my writing for the first time, the feedback has been surprisingly good. Even here on WordPress, people seemed to like what I am writing (which, again very surprising) but I would love it if you could comment on my posts. I would love to see what you think of a particular piece. Some very nice people like Ravenclaw Pride have already started to give me honest and useful feedback for which I am truly grateful.

These are the things I have been missing for a long time, some true encouragement and some faith that I am not going to completely fail at it in a constructive way. My friends and family are bound to say good things about me, it’s part of the rules but knowing that people outside of that circle don’t find my writing too bad is a really, really good feeling. So, thank you all for that. Truly.

Now, one of my friends commented that my blog’s theme isn’t user friendly, in that, that it scrolls infinitely? And because of that, it’s sometimes confusing to find the post they were looking for. Is that something you have been facing as well? If yes, then I might change my theme however seeing as I am a free user, there are certain restrictions on this. It’s not going to change anytime soon because I am still unemployed. (You have no idea how frustrating it is to not have a job. Or maybe you do. ) Still, I will try to make my blog as accessible and as easy to read as possible. Please, share if you think it’s an ok theme or not because it’s important to me that you guys enjoy looking at the blog as you are reading the stuff.

Overall, I would love to know what you think of my blog and how do you think it can improve. I am, as you know, super new to this and I would love to learn more and get it better over time.

I am hoping to do these tiny updates every month, let’s see how it goes.
